Dear Readers:

I do love to write and I have always found it my soul's purpose to do so.  I am overjoyed to have heard from so many people that they enjoyed my first novel and that they read it in one or two sittings.  Many people described with enthusiam exactly where they read my book or the type of day it was and how much they enjoyed the experience.  I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW MUCH JOY I RECEIVE FROM THAT KIND OF FEEDBACK.

Shortly before her fortieth birthday, Molly Callahan, a failing artist, is contacted by Electra, a daughter she had given up for adoption. At a point in her life where Molly needs to find answers about her own identity, she sets out across the country to meet her estranged daughter on Ridgeport Island, a small island in Maine.

Molly arrives on the island in early July and discovers that Electra’s "cottage" is in fact an elegant estate located in an exclusive summer resort. Intimidated by Electra’s apparent wealth, and already worried that she will not compare to the birthfather, a famous rockstar; Molly is unable to summon up the nerve to meet her daughter. Nearly out of money and hope, Molly by chance meets Nathan, a local bachelor who helps her find a job on the island and also becomes her confidant. A future beyond any of Molly's expectations waits her discovery if only she can unlock the door she had closed on her past. Electra offers Molly that key, and Nathan helps her to use it, opening her heart to the possibilities.
